Medical Philosophy and Personal Interests
As a Certified Nurse Midwife, Regis loves having the opportunity to partner with women in finding solutions to improve their health and well-being. She believes her role is to provide information that empowers a woman to make informed choices regarding her health care and to provide support for those choices. Whether a woman is considering comfort measures in labor, fitness strategies for weight loss, or hormone therapy during menopause, her goal is to provide helpful, individualized and thoughtful care.
Regis has experience providing health care to women in a variety of settings. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse in a high-risk obstetrical unit and provided gynecological care in out-patient clinics as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she provided primary care to women and their families, forming a foundation for her commitment to provide care that treats the whole person and is responsive to each woman's needs.
Regis has special interests in water birth, exercise and nutrition, mental health and menopausal management.
She lives in Portland where she can frequently indulge her love for urban hikes, hot yoga, riding her bike, farmer's markets, bookstores and movies.
