Renee Goodreau, M.D.

Medical Philosophy and Personal Interests
A woman’s health needs change throughout her life, and it is Renee’s privilege to educate her patients and provide options during these transitions. Whether initiating birth control for an adolescent, supporting a labor and birth plan, performing a minimally invasive hysterectomy, or discussing the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy, she sees her role as an OB/GYN as a partnership with her patients. The doctor-patient relationships she finds most rewarding are those that span a woman’s reproductive life and beyond. She credits her mother, a compassionate infertility and operating room nurse, with inspiring her passion for women’s health.
Outside of work, Renee has a variety of interests. Her bookshelves are lined with literary fiction, and she always welcomes patient recommendations of the latest must-read. Hiking is her favorite outdoor activity, and while on the trail, she is an avid photographer. The National Parks are a much loved get-away. Time at home in Portland is spent cooking, watching movies and indulging in TV shows about the universe with her partner, Josh.
